McDonalds Should Pay Me

Again today I remembered that McDonalds had to put a warning on its coffee cups that the beverage inside might be hot. Caution. Hot coffee is hot. Beerages made with boiling water are hot and may burn if you pour them in your lap or onto your tongue without due care.

I scoff, but again today I burned by tongue on a cup of tea that I tried to sip mere moments after pouring water from the kettle over the tea bag.

If only there were a way to get McDonalds to compensate me for my sore tongue.

Cold Feet

I think I have cold feet.
Yesterday I was driving to work and adjusted the airflow in my car.
I had it dialed in to defrost and to the floorboard.
I was having trouble with getting just the right temperature.
Ya know closer to blue or closer to red.
After 45 minutes I noticed that I had the A/C on!
No wonder I had cold feet.

Caffeine

Did you know that coffee cures headaches?
Or is it the caffeine addiction that causes headaches?
Did you know that there is such a thing as cause and effect?

Home in Bed

I couldn't have picked a better day to stay home.
The is rain coming down in sheets.
It would be a good day to curl up with a book
And a bowl of soup.
I guess I am sick.

Monologue

If you talk about yourself a lot you may find you have been delivering monologues.

Martin Luther King Day

Taking out the trash this morning I had this eerie feeling.
I was looking around as if something was just not right.
I was driving up to put gas in the car and it hit me.
Today is a holiday.
My commute time was cut in half.
Most of the people in the US have the day off.

The Stairmaster

I went to the gym this morning.
I tried the stairmaster for the first time.
It works the calves and quadriceps, amazing.
I got all sweaty doing it.

Ask and You Shall Receive

A friend of mine manages a really interesting international project. He told me he was looking for someone to manage one of his teams. I asked him if he would consider me for the role. He offered me the position. I am instantly discombobulated, trying to figure out if I want the job, wondering if I was a good fit for it, wondering why he didn't think of me before now.

I was struck by a series of incredible insights that probably fit nicely into the well duh category:
1. If you want something, you could try asking for it.
2. If you ask for something, people will think you want it
3. If you look for opportunities, you might find them
4. You may want to think about what you ask for in case you get it.

Pears Don't Travel but Bananas DO

I think those who package pears for distance just don't show the commitment that banana packers do.
